The Baton Rouge Water Company provides water service the Baton Rouge metropolitan area through an extensive water production and distribution system. We are committed to delivering high-quality water services and are seeking a talented individual to join our Engineering Department.


Position Overview

We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to oversee all capital projects related to production and distribution expansion. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, engineering aides, drafters, and GIS professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing standards, processes, and tools for efficient project management throughout the project lifecycle. You will also ensure that productivity and quality targets are met, while managing day-to-day project execution and solving issues that may impede project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee capital projects from inception through completion within the water production and distribution system.
  • Set project management standards, establish processes, and implement tools to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet design specifications, schedules, and financial objectives.
  • Respond to escalated project issues, identify solutions, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Manage relationships with strategic partners and maintain clear communication across teams.
  • Analyze project metrics, identify potential areas for improvement, and propose operational improvements for future projects.
  • Supervise a team of para-professional staff and make day-to-day decisions related to project management.
  • Provide guidance on project timelines, budget adherence, and team collaboration.


Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in construction project management, ideally in the utility sector.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and operations, especially within utilities.
  • Experience managing resource-loaded CPM schedule software.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and administering organizational processes and systems.
  • Proven ability to supervise and lead teams.
  • Experience working with engineering, drafting, and GIS teams is preferred.
