Position Title: VB.NET Developer – Finance & HR SystemsLocation: Montgomery, AlabamaClearance Requirements: Must qualify for State of Alabama Merit employmentPosition Status: Contract-to-Hire (6 months contract, then conversion to permanent)Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experiencePosition Description:We are seeking a skilled VB.NET Developer to support the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Finance and Human Resources systems. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications using VB.NET and Microsoft SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in system design, and the ability to work under direct supervision of technical experts. This position is intended to convert to a permanent role within six months.Key Responsibilities:Perform complex analysis, design, development, and maintenance using VB.NET and Microsoft SQLDefine system requirements, write specifications, and design computer systemsDevelop system and program documentationTest modifications and enhancements to ensure system integrityDebug and resolve production issues following established development standardsCollaborate with team leads and transfer knowledge to junior programmers as neededRequired Skills & Experience:4+ years in applications development and support2+ years in system analysis, requirements definition, and system design2–5 years programming/systems analysis experience using ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL in an online environmentStrong understanding of software development best practicesAbility to write and optimize SQL queriesAbout Seneca ResourcesAt Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
