Position Overview

The Personal Banker is responsible for acquiring, expanding, and enriching client relationships, while providing service in an exceptional manner. They educate clients about their financial choices, as a trusted advisor. They demonstrate knowledge of financial services and products, including all deposit accounts and all electronic banking products.


Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains a high degree of knowledge in all bank programs, ensuring quality service and accuracy is delivered to all clients.
  • Educates clients about their financial choices by understanding needs and recommending appropriate financial products and services.
  • Provides deposit account and consumer loan services to clients.
  • Educates clients about self-service options, such as Internet Banking and Bill Pay services
  • Demonstrates initiative to proactively identify issues and help problem solve and implement solutions.
  • Provides consistent follow through.
  • Takes responsibility for retaining client relationships.
  • Embraces change by anticipating and supporting banking strategies and goals.
  • Meets expected service levels for availability, wait time and accuracy.
  • Consistently demonstrates all expected service and sales behaviors.
  • Exhibits regular and predictable attendance and flexibility in daily schedule to provide lobby coverage.
  • Desire to help develop and write procedures and willingness to train/coach others.
  • Maintains awareness of legal requirements and best practices, adhering to established bank policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
  • Flexible to cover other activities as needed to drive toward our vision and fulfill our mission as a Client Service team and organization.


Position Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of prior client service and sales experience in a professional setting.
  • Supervisory experience preferred or willingness to grow into a supervisory role.
  • Previous retail financial sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior Fiserv core and Business Process Manager (BPM) account opening platform experience preferred.
  • Consumer and Home Equity lending experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of fundamental demand deposit, savings and certificates concepts and practices.
  • Ability to interpret savings instruments policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional client service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills in a strong client service environment.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Proficient at Microsoft programs and banking software.


Work Schedule

Work is performed in an office environment. Hours of work are generally during regular business hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. There may be some variation in work hours due to special projects and/or deadlines.
