JOB SUMMARY: 

The Operations Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of all operational activities in a safe and efficient manner to the highest quality standards. This includes the processing and packaging of a wide array of raw proteins for the retail sector. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a “safety first” mentality who creates an environment that encourages ownership and accountability. The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager and leads a team of 25-30. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·       Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety practices and quality standards including all GMP’s. 

·       Manage and direct daily operations by providing clear concise communication of the plan and providing the resources and support to complete it within the deadlines. 

·       Promote a “safety first” culture by working with the safety coordinator on continuous improvements within all areas of responsibility. 

·       Manage and direct resources as needed to increase efficiency and drive continuous improvements throughout the operation. 

·       Collect and collate production data daily to review with team and assist with planning with an eye towards improved performance. 

·       Support staff training and development to assist with achieving personal and professional goals while increasing employee engagement. 

·       Develop department budget and approve expenditures for materials while ensuring all labor, yield and production targets are met. 

·       Maximize efficiency through the design and implementation of improved manufacturing strategies and allocate assets and resources to meet quality, safety, cost, delivery, volume, and productivity goals. 

·       Maintain relationships with equipment suppliers, and packaging suppliers. 

·       Demonstrate excellent communication with all levels of the organization including relationships with toll processing clients, vendors, customers, etc. 

·       Responsible for preventative maintenance including developing preventive maintenance schedules and making decisions regarding emergency maintenance. 

·       Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local laws and regulations. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

·       7-10 years of leadership experience in a USDA food processing facility (raw experience ideal) 

·       Bilingual English/Spanish (essential).  

·       Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations management or other applicable discipline. 

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

·       Excellent Communication skills A MUST with all levels of the organization.

·       May be standing for long periods of the day in the processing room. 

·       Must be able to physically use computer equipment for up to 8 hours per day. 

 

 

 

COMPENSATION: 

·       Annual salary between $125K-$150K depending on experience. 

·       KPI driven incentive program.
