Trinity Industries is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to oversee our server operations in our Dallas, TX Datacenter.


The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the data center and on-prem IT infrastructure environments, ensuring their efficient and reliable functioning. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive knowledge of data center operations, focusing mainly on storage and server management, backup & recovery administration and network administration. They should also be familiar with industry best practices and regulations related to data center management.



What you’ll do:


  • Manage and oversee multiple aspects of data center infrastructure, including EXSI/VMWARE hypervisors, Windows/Linux OS, and storage administration
  • Maintain high availability and performance of the data center
  • Ensure data center operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Plan, install, and support the company’s physical computer infrastructure (hardware, operating systems, networks, and backup systems)
  • Manage and administer all aspects of Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID environments including supporting functions like DNS, GPO, DHCP, SSO, MFA, & conditional access
  • Troubleshoot IT issues within the data center and manufacturing facilities physical infrastructure
  • Support change and release processes for physical\virtual environment
  • Provide cost and design proposals and liaise with vendors
  • Participate in administration of hybrid cloud environment (Azure/AWS)



What you’ll bring:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience in server\storage management, IT infrastructure, or related roles
  • Data Center Operations: Proficiency in managing data center facilities, including servers, storage, networking, and data protection platforms
  • Network Administration: General knowledge of network protocols, routing, and security.
  • Security: Understanding of data center security practices, firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Ability to monitor data center performance and optimize resource utilization
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and find efficient solutions
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team, manage projects, and make strategic decisions
  • Adaptability: Data centers evolve rapidly; adaptability is crucial
