Job Title: IT Security and Controls Manager

Location: TROY MI 48084 Hybrid

Onsite Requirements:

  • Cloud platform and application Security concepts and best practices, ability to assess app security controls, and learn any new or existing applications.
  • Understanding of GRC and SOX compliance, and business processes
  • IT Audit background, and ability to communicate with business.


Summary:

  • This role will play a key role in Company standard technology modernization and strategic growth initiatives.
  • The IT Security and Controls Manager will contribute to implementing and maintaining the Company's security environments, including on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with a strong understanding of and demonstrated experience architecting and securing cloud-based environments.
  • They should also have experience designing and managing these environments for compliance and security requirements and leveraging automation in testing, deployment, and maintenance activities.

Essential Duties:

  • Will bring a business-oriented focus to solving business problems using security technologies - thinking about Client business users and end-customers first.
  • Investigate cybersecurity incidents and provide necessary support for incident response processes.
  • Work with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with applications, networking, development, infrastructure teams to ensure environments are optimized for security activities.
  • Continuously identify improvements to the efficient and effective use of security resources to meet strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to go-live and cutover activities and post-go-live warranty support activities as need to ensure successful transition of new security environments and technologies to production operations.
  • Participate in incident management processes, driving service restoration, and learning from past issues.
  • Research and keep current on the evolution of security technologies and how they can be leveraged to optimize business capabilities in the future.
  • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
  • Ensure IT security, develop and maintain a documented framework of controls aligned with risks and standards, identifying, assessing, and documenting key controls across various domains.
  • Implement and run procedures to test, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of IT controls, tracking issues, ensuring remediation, and recommending framework enhancements based on data analysis.
  • Streamline GRC by implementing automation tools, optimizing processes, and delivering informative reports to management on IT control and risk.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for securing cloud environments including but not limited to Azure/Entra, AWS, Oracle, Google etc.
  • Evaluate cloud posture, mitigating risks, enforcing policies, and advocating best practices, all powered by tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Manage controls across services like Azure Active Directory, Sentinel, and Security Center, employing access protocols, network shields, data encryption, and vulnerability hunting, all while mastering the latest Azure security advancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education, Training and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security, and 10-15 years of applicable experience within Cybersecurity

Requirements:

  • Knowledge around Microsoft 365 Security
  • Proven experience in cloud security management, preferably with Azure environments.
  • Experience with security tools and frameworks such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Security Center.
  • Understand Microsoft Security including Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Online
  • Understanding and configuration of different levels of endpoint security
  • Been a part of incident handling processes.
  • Worked through regulatory audits such as SOX.
  • Create and Manage ITGC's and RACMs
  • Experience in implementing and managing application security and controls.
  • Experience in gathering information on personas for application security roles.
  • Experience in creating applications security roles for both technical roles as well as business roles.
  • Conduct risk assessments and Gap analysis.
  • Managing projects including managing tasks and resources
  • Creating presentation and presenting to technical and business leadership

  • Open to maintaining a flexible schedule, including working additional or alternative hours to meet deadlines as well as being apart of after hours on-call support.
