Electrical Estimator Position Overview:

Join us as an Electrical Estimator, where you will delve into a diverse array of field-testing proposals, focusing on NETA ATS and MTS testing and commissioning projects. Our clientele spans various industries including Power Generation, Chemical/Industrial, Manufacturing, and large Commercial properties. Additionally, you will contribute to crafting proposals specializing in power distribution and substation electrical construction. As an integral part of the electrical testing process, you will play a vital role in ensuring our competitive edge, profitability, and continuous growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Sales and Operations teams, offering support in generating comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Engage with the existing estimating group to efficiently handle the reception, preparation, and dissemination of finalized proposals, ensuring adherence to defined scope items and RFQ deadlines.
  • Conduct field walk-downs for certain RFQs alongside customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to comprehensively understand and define all scope requirements.
  • Execute field take-offs/evaluations to facilitate the preparation of estimates.
  • Validate the accuracy and consistency of various project documents, meticulously entering all proposals into the estimating software program.
  • Actively participate in the estimate review process, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support to the sales and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle, aiding in tracking and comprehending the foundation of cost estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation of change order submittals, as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough follow-ups at the conclusion of projects to address any outstanding issues in the estimating process, collaborating closely with the operations group to finalize scope definition and billing requirements.

Requirements:

  • Preferably possess a BS Electrical Degree and/or certification from Formal Electrical Trades Schools.
  • Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in the electrical testing field is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience as an Estimator involved in electrical testing projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings/schematics, specifications, proposals, and other pertinent documentation to formulate time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Word, Adobe PDF, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills are essential.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as required throughout the district and surrounding areas.
