Overview:We are looking for an Estimator with commercial construction experience including, but not limited to, commercial buildings, earthwork, and concrete.This person will prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information from construction plans and specifications. This person will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.Role & Responsibilities:Responsible for GMPs, lump sum bidding, and bid package coordinationPerform quantity takeoffs (PlanSwift)Attend Prebid meetings, site visits and bid turn insPrepare work to be estimated by gathering specs, plans and proposals. Review and verify scope of workPrepare accurate and complete cost estimates (HeavyBid)Prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade specific clarifications and comprehensive bid packages.Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, qualify proposalsDevelop and maintain subcontractor/supplier list. Actively increase subcontractor poolDevelop strong, professional relationships with key vendors and customersDemonstrate ability to pay attention to detail and accuracyAbility to make reliable predictions as it relates to cost and be comfortable estimating across all scopes of workComplete Post Bid ActivitiesRequirements:Experience with civil site development (earthwork, underground wet/dry utilities and flatwork)Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study preferredAbility to read plans and specificationsExperience with HeavyBid or similar softwareProficient with Microsoft Office & takeoff software such as PlanSwiftHigh sense of accountability and ability to handle multiple priorities at onceSelf-motivatedMust have good verbal and written communication skillsTeam oriented, cooperative, and collaborativeKnowledge and understanding of all aspects of construction practices and methods including contracts, estimating, specifications, scheduling, safety, and equipmentMust have knowledge and understanding of unit costs and the factors that affect construction costMust have experience with the bidding process: soliciting bids, communicating with the bidders, evaluating subcontractor proposals, using bid tally sheets, etc.A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.Strong organizational skills, analytical and mathematical skills, detail oriented, positive, and proactive attitude, working well with a team, analytical, and always willing to share or learn moreTo be considered for this role...Please apply, and then complete our 2-part survey at the following link: https://go.cultureindex.com/p/evotbjl1pd0libYgHKVd
