Norit is one of the global leaders in producing activated carbon for a wide range of applications including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, biogas, chemicals, water, automotive and others. Without knowing it, you have undoubtedly used our product indirectly. For our US organization, that includes 2 manufacturing facilities in Pryor, Ok and Marshall TX, corporate office (Horsham, PA) and remote employees, we are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner.

This position entails collaborating with functional and manufacturing leaders to deliver HR solutions for the designated employee base (around 150 employees). Tasks vary from staffing, employee relations, compliance, compensation, team development, and guiding organizational change initiatives. Because of the diverse spread of employee population, locations and business needs, the role combines the necessity to switch gear between strategic and tactical activities.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting and possess the ability to cultivate relationships across various business units. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity for individuals interested in addressing strategic, region-wide, or company-wide matters, while also overseeing day-to-day tactical HR operations.

As an HR Business Partner, you will:

  • Stay updated on and align HR practices with goals, capabilities, and development priorities of supported sites and functions,
  • Identify and establish relationships with key clients and stakeholders across supported locations, functions, and among HR colleagues,
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints promptly; escalate significant issues to VP, Human Resources,
  • Coach Managers to improve employee performance; review performance improvement plans before communicating with employees,
  • Provide guidance on administering HR policies for fair treatment and supportive work environment. Implement new HR and business policies and programs for the employee population in the US,
  • Collaborate with functional and site leaders to understand skill gaps and upcoming business needs, develop solutions that would help close these gaps,
  • Work with global HR colleagues ’on HR strategic priorities and collaborate on tactical functional topics to improve efficiency reduce manual work while enhancing employee experience,
  • Oversee HR Operations in the US, including Global HRIS, Payroll, Compensation and Benefits: ensure data governance and accuracy, equity, fairness and compliance across HR operational processes,
  • Actively promote Norit values and cultivate an environment where employees understand and embrace our company's principles.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree or certification in Human Resources / Business Administration,
  • 5+ years of related HR experience, preferably within an international organization,
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment,
  • Possess strong business acumen to effectively translate business needs into HR actions,
  • Proactive in dealing with ambiguity, addressing emerging issues promptly, and being responsive to both management and employees,
  • Demonstrate an action-oriented approach, capable of leading change within the organization,
  • Possess the ability to influence others while maintaining an attitude of respect for individuals at all levels of the organization,
  • Good decision-making skills, ability to work independently in a leadership position,
  • Have strong conflict resolution abilities, including effective communication and a leadership presence,
  • Display organizational agility by effectively multitasking, meeting deadlines, and maintaining confidentiality,
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills, experience with HRIS.
