Position Overview for the Mechanical Project Engineer:

  • Responsible for ensuring products are designed and developed to the highest standard; defines and establishes design constraints
  • Participate in design reviews and technical coordination meetings with support from appropriate functional areas
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring task progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Development activities include, but are not limited to concept/innovation, design, technical specifications, data tables/curves, patenting, selection of manufacturer, component selection, compliant for necessary testing and procedures (standards, performance, agency, etc.), pricing negotiations, production forecasts, and recommended sell price
  • Assist Project Manager with equipment cost calculations and stage gate documents
  • Less than 10% travel required


Required Skills for the Mechanical Project Engineer:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of product development, design, or manufacturing experience, preferably in HVAC or related industry
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
  • Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Strong operational and project management skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving; work hands on
