REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

BASIC FUNCTIONS: TO MAINTAIN FACILITY’S EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES

This position supports two of our manufacturing locations with the primary location in Auburn Hills and the secondary location in Madison Heights. As a Maintenance Tech the primary responsibility is to perform preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance of all machinery and equipment used in the blending and packaging process. This role will work collaboratively with another Maintenance Tech to achieve these goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Communicate with the production managers regarding basic machine functions.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot the cause of malfunctions, and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Order parts and items needed for the proper function of machinery and equipment.
  • Initiate and maintain improvement efforts in all areas of plant operations.
  • Provide technical support and advice to personnel.
  • Regularly evaluate machine and equipment function.
  • Oversee the implementation of new production equipment to meet site demands.
  • Strictly observe all safety policies and practices.
  • Communicate with production manager, scheduling, and lab personnel to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with another Maintenance Tech to ensure comprehensive coverage and support.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Thorough understanding of material flow throughout facility.
  • Understanding of process equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and process improvement skills are required.
  • Complete understanding and adherence to safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Planning of work and how it is generated.
  • Work will generally be self-generated in support of production.
  • Specific work assignments may be assigned by management as required.
  • Will be expected to operate without direct supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIRMENTS:

  • Electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and components, is required.
  • Knowledge of equipment used in liquid filling operations and GMP facility maintenance a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic equipment functions, mechanically inclined, three plus years of experience in maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
