Description: The software engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications used by Client employees and our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test web applications.
  • Work closely with Analysts, QA Testers, and end users to ensure applications meet the needs of the business.
  • Participate in growing and improving the overall software development practice.
  • Work across development teams to share code, best practices, and ways of working to improve efficiencies in development and maintenance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work within agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban) to organize, plan, and execute work.


Job Requirements


Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field.

Experience

  • Experience in developing and maintaining database backed web applications.
  • Proven experience working within a team using agile practices to deliver working, well tested, and maintainable software.
  • Experience developing web applications using Python and Django, or other Python web frameworks.

Skills

  • Solid understanding of Python development, debugging, and testing.
  • Proficient with front-end technologies – HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Proficient with SQL and basic database design principles.
  • Unit testing and test automation.
  • A good understanding of containerization and cloud infrastructure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical stakeholders
