Histotechnician Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Histotechnician Supervisor to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience as a histotechnician, along with previous leadership experience. While experience in dermatopathology is preferred, it is not a requirement. If you are a motivated and skilled histotechnician looking to take on a leadership role, we encourage you to apply.

Histotechnician Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the histology laboratory, including specimen processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and mounting of tissue samples
• Provide leadership and guidance to histotechnicians and laboratory staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CLIA, CAP and OSHA, by implementing and maintaining quality control measures and laboratory protocols
• Train and mentor staff on laboratory techniques, procedures and safety protocols, promoting professional development and growth
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory management to prioritize specimen processing and address any issues related to sample quality or processing
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of laboratory procedures, test results, quality control data and equipment maintenance

Histotechnician Supervisor Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Physical Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience working as a histotechnician in a clinical laboratory setting
• Previous leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team
• Registration as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) required
• Experience in dermatopathology preferred, but not required
• Strong knowledge of histology techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and microscopy
• Familiarity with laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
