ROLE SUMMARY


The Quality Control Lab Assistant, under direct or minimal supervision, is responsible for maintaining the lab organization, buffer Preparation, and performing daily instrument calibrations and general maintenance. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for the timely completion of assignments. Good record keeping, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. The Lab Assistant must be willing to work overtime as required.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Evaluates data against defined criteria/specifications.
  • Maintains the laboratory in an inspection-ready state.
  • Perform weekly and monthly cleaning activities of the laboratory area.
  • Performs daily balance weight checks.
  • Performs daily calibrations on pH and Conductivity meters.
  • Maintain Laboratory Equipment and Supplies
  • Prepares solutions to support laboratory assays and functions.
  • Performs other routine laboratory functions/chores for the QC laboratory.
  • Holds self and others responsible to abide by department and company policies and practices.
  • Develops familiarity concerning cGMP, 21CFR, USP, EP, ICH, and other applicable regulatory requirements.


SKILLS


  • Performs tasks associated with maintaining cGMP compliant Quality Control and Stability laboratories.
  • Ability To lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to follow written instructions and to perform tasks with direct or minimal supervision.
  • Works independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with use of a computer: e. g., Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Good written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills a must. The analyst must develop skills in the operation and routine maintenance of various analytical instruments and computers.


The Laboratory Assistant must develop the skills necessary to understand the operation of the equipment and gain knowledge of the equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


QUALIFICATIONS


A.A./ 2-4 Years into B.S./B.A. in Science/Related Field (biology-biochemistry-chemistry). 0-3 years of relevant laboratory experience is desired
