LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

Under general direction, provides project management and site landscape design work of moderate difficulty and the exercise of sound professional judgment.

 

Specific duties:

·        Performs landscape design work and calculations on projects of increasing difficultly, and prepares plans, specifications and cost estimates through the use of CADD, MS Word, MS Excel and other software.

·        Maintains quality control for several tasks related to project delivery. Monitors and Reviews work of Assistant and Junior Landscape Designers as well as technical staff.

·        May have project management duties involving scope, budget, schedule and billings of specific project tasks.

·        May have Client Contact and represent the company on specific project items.

·        Responsible for field verifications of existing conditions related to project plans and specifications in order to develop conformity with design intent.

·        May be responsible for projects of moderate to average complexity, supervising less experienced landscape designers and/or technicians. Without supervision, should be skilled in the production of planting plans, irrigation plans, construction layout plans, grading and drainage plans, and construction details and specifications.


Qualifications:

·        Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years experience equivalent to Assistant Landscape Designer. A Masters degree may substitute 1 year of experience.

·        Comprehensive knowledge of current landscape architectural theory and concepts, site design, state building and ADA accessibility laws and familiarity with engineering practices and environmental analysis.

·        Good time management skills and good oral and written communication skills.

·        Good marketing and promotional skills

·        Comprehensive knowledge of CADD, and other business application software programs.

Able to qualify for Landscape Architectural Licensing Exam.
