Position: Nutrition Specialist

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $36.68/hour

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree; or at least two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Day Shift


Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Nutrition Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team


Job Description:

  • Coordinate menu planning and ensure residents' dietary needs are met.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments at key intervals, including during initial, quarterly, and annual reviews, as well as for significant changes.
  • Work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Monitor and report on residents’ weights, hydration, and dietary intake, and submit weekly/monthly reports.
  • Attend care plan meetings and provide nutritional consultations for residents.
  • Perform audits on handwashing, meal service, and food safety in the kitchen and dining room.
  • Review and update menus twice a year for the Assisted Living Program.


Position Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, discreet, and sensitive when handling confidential matters.
  • Respect for diversity and openness to constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment (computers, printers, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and vendors.
