JOB SUMMARY

Located in the heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, our team offers programs and services to ensure our most vulnerable community members have access to healthy, safe, stable, and affordable housing. The Housing Stabilization Specialist will play a key role in working to end houselessness and addressing barriers to housing access in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman Counties.


REQUIREMENTS

*Minimum 2 years in customer service or social services.

*Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft Office.

*Must speak and write fluently in Spanish.

*Valid Driver's License/Proof of Insurance to work in Hood River and The Dalles offices.

*Background check. (Not all convictions are automatically disqualifying. We will not deny employment solely because of a prior felony conviction)

*Must attend Traditional Health Worker training and become certified by the State of Oregon (Oregon Health Authority) within the first year of employment. We will provide the training opportunity and pay for the cost for training.


PREFERENCES

*Certification as Traditional Health Worker according to Oregon Health Authority standards.

*Experience or comfort with working with clients living outside, including those with behavioral health and substance abuse disorder needs.

*Knowledge of Oregon Landlord/Tenant, Fair Housing, and Equal Access Laws.

*Language skill requirement or preference: Must communicate in Spanish with client groups, community partners, the general public, and co-workers.


JOB DUTIES

*Assist clients in designated program(s) to develop housing stability plans including but not limited to financial and self-sufficiency goals. This includes conducting intake interviews to determine client's needs, goals, and eligibility.

*Communicate and advocate with landlords, both verbal and written, on behalf of program participants, to ensure housing is successfully secured and/or maintained

*Effectively manage schedule of casework related appointments to facilitate positive client-housing stabilization relationships, and other key relationships that promote client success, such as client-landlord relationships.

*Educate landlords, partner organizations, and caseworkers about rapid rehousing assistance, eviction prevention assistance, and/or other supportive services, as assigned.

*Utilize online vouchering system in Smartsheet's and PEX system to track rapid rehousing assistance, eviction prevention assistance and other payments incurred by the organization on behalf of assigned clients.

*Conduct weekly or monthly check-ins with clients who have open street outreach or housing placement/retention cases; complete required documentation and re-assessment paperwork on a timely basis, and coordinate additional referrals as needed.


HOURS

*Full-Time


PAY

*$48,600.00 a year.

*3% pay differential for bilingual (Spanish and English) candidates.
