Our Challenge:

As a Android Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.


The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin and Java.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Manage the entire application development lifecycle including testing, release, and support.
  • Write clean, maintainable code while adhering to best practices in software development.
  • Provide leadership in finding and implementing new technologies that yield competitive advantage.
  • Mentor junior developers, review their code, and guide them in their professional development.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Maintain code integrity and organization.
  • Lead and participate in software architecture discussions and decision-making.
  • Interface with hardware design and development if necessary.


Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience, with a strong focus on Android development.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
  • Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and other necessary tools.
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Proficiency in code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX standards and material design principles.
  • Experience with performance and memory tuning tools.


It would be great if you also had:

  • Published Android apps in the Google Play Store.
  • Experience with Android Jetpack components.
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
  • Good understanding of continuous integration.
