Product Technical Manager – Road Machinery

Overview
As a key contributor to the development and maintenance of company road machinery products, with a focus on paver and milling machines, you will be responsible for participating in the establishment and management of the company Road Machinery Technical Center. You will be involved in technical development and maintenance related to road machinery products. Leading the R&D team in close collaboration with the supply chain, commercial teams, and end customers, you will define and drive product strategies and specifications. You will provide appropriate technical support to application engineers and facilitate product maintenance. Collaborating with the road machinery technical team at the R&D Headquarters, you will adjust technical product strategies, development schedules, and optimize research and development investments. Regular interaction and communication with dealers and external customers, particularly in supporting on-site tracking/trial programs, will be required. Clear definition of product requirements and strategies, budget planning and management, project execution oversight, understanding and proposing innovative and disruptive technologies are part of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing regional market demands, researching competitors, and redesigning or introducing differentiated road machinery for the local market.
- Defining and managing product technical strategies based on business strategies, application knowledge, industry trends, and machine, subsystem, and component strategies.
- Responsible for defining and managing technical requirements, executing, and delivering technical processes, product release and design control, continuous product improvement, and participating in the lifecycle support of products, including design, production, marketing, release, and dealer relationships.
- Managing and facilitating technical development, applicability improvements, and technical support for products through collaboration with internal and external business partners, establishing localized design, testing, and improvement processes.
- Collaborating and ensuring technical support for other functional areas, including product launches, supply chain, and product technical support.
- Assisting in team management, undertaking company tasks and decomposing them to ensure efficient output and discipline within the team.
- Ensuring technical drawings and specifications of products comply with industry and company standards.
- Developing project stage technical information and presentations and reporting to headquarters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in the design of engineering machinery (including but not limited to road machinery products, paver, and milling machines), including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- 2+ years of experience in technical project/team leadership.
- Experience in on-site tracking/trials, technical support, and communication with customers and dealers.
- International working experience preferred.
- Experience in budget planning and management.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with specific standards and regulations such as ISO, ANSI, CSA.
