A well-known AV-rated firm, has an immediate opening in our Peninsula location for full-time family law attorney (this position can potentially be based in our East Bay office). Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments from multiple partners and have the ability to independently prioritize assignments, work on a number of assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Make court appearances independently and handle various family law hearings on behalf of clients
  • Work well independently and as a team and verbally communicate clearly, skillfully and discretely with clients, Opposing Counsel, experts, and consultants, etc. Work effectively with legal secretaries, paralegals and attorneys
  • Correspond with clients and opposing counsel
  • Legal research and drafting of a wide range of legal documents
  • Analyze and summarize legal documents

Skills and Experience

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California
  • Minimum of 2 years of licensed family law experience
  • Possess excellent writing skills and be able to draft motions, pleadings, letters, memos, and other documents
  • Detailed and have the ability work independently
  • Must possess analytical, legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the firm
  • Adeptness in Court Appearances
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with DissoMaster, Essential Forms and Lawgic is ideal. Excellent research skills are required, and you must be comfortable with numerous research means (LexisAdvance, Attorney’s Briefcase, online sites and hardcover library books)
  • Able to handle multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist the team in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules
