Leading women's retail brand in Manhattan, NY seeking a dynamic Raw Materials Specialist to join our esteemed Glamour Raw Material team


Position Overview:

As a Raw Materials Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the front-end creative and back-end operational aspects of raw material development. Our department operates within a fast-paced environment where priorities shift based on business needs, requiring adaptability and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will thrive in a deadline-driven setting, managing various responsibilities ranging from data entry to fabric library management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate raw material development processes.
  • Execute daily tasks including data entry, package coordination, fabric library maintenance, and deck updating.
  • Manage incoming emails and chat communications, ensuring timely responses and effective information dissemination.
  • Uphold the integrity of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Utilize knowledge of fabric types and characteristics to support material selection and sourcing initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation of presentations and documents using PowerPoint and InDesign, contributing to the visual storytelling of raw material concepts and trends.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the fashion industry, preferably in women's retail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign; experience with PLM systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Passion for fashion and a keen eye for emerging trends in materials and design.
