Job Summary

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for safely managing and ensuring completion of multiple construction projects (resources, self-perform activities and coordination, plans, budgets, schedules, and financials) to Company’s quality standards, and customer’s satisfaction. Builds and maintains long term relationships with project stakeholders, monitors construction and financial activities to ensure on-time project completion. The PM’s responsibility is to support of the superintendent/project team, long-term planning, scheduling, and identification/resolution of potential constraints or issues. This position may require on‐site management for large, complex projects. The PM should lead by example and uphold Veliz Construction’s mission, vision, and values. 


Position Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Ability to manage projects up to 5 million
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work and direct Project Engineers under their supervision
  • Coordinate project execution with Project Superintendents
  • Ability to price change orders
  • Generate and update construction schedules
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Coordinate, plan, and execute project activities according to the schedule
  • Create, monitor, and analyze project budget and maintain accurate project cost reports
  • Manage and be responsible for processing and tracking monthly payment applications from clients and subcontractors
  • Manage, track, review, and process change orders, submittals, RFI's, and any other required construction logs
  • Manage preparation and execution of the project closeout


Position Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of proven and successful experience in the construction industry is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
  • Experience working on federal contracts is a plus
  • Experience with Design – Build, CMR, JOC, and IDIQ project deliveries
  • Proven commitment to safety and building relationships with project stakeholders
  • Bilingual (Spanish) desirable
  • Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to implement Lean Construction principles and methodologies
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Knowledge of RS Means, MS Project, 4Clicks, and On-Screen Takeoff
  • Ability to work and maintain flow in a fast-paced environment
  • This position requires some travel
