Job Description

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our client's engineering team in either Mountain View, CA or San Diego, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the production and ongoing maintenance of a critical website platform. You will manage cloud infrastructure and system administration, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and repair issues as they arise.

Your expertise will be crucial in implementing highly scalable applications and integrating infrastructure builds with application deployment processes. You will have the opportunity to research and implement new technologies that improve efficiency and effectiveness. This position requires strong communication skills as you will collaborate with junior and senior engineers, project managers, executives, and various support staff.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust website platform using modern web technologies
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and perform system administration tasks
  • Implement highly scalable applications to meet business needs
  • Integrate infrastructure builds with application deployment processes
  • Analyze, design, and evaluate automation scripts and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Research and propose new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's overall knowledge base


Required Experience/Skills

  • Proven experience in DevOps practices and web application development
  • Strong proficiency in CSS, HTML, XML, and Java
  • Expertise in Linux systems and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with DNS configuration and management
  • Knowledge of NoSQL technologies
  • Familiarity with SSL and HTTP protocols
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working in the financial technology sector
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Contributions to open-source projects


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications are a plus
