We’re looking to add a talented Junior level Program Buyer to our team at our facility in Stuart, FL– DAHER Aircraft Inc. The Program Buyer will manage purchasing activities, whether in development or in serial life. They will work in close collaboration with the supply chain, supplier performance team and all internal customers (Plant, Sales, Quality, and Program). Responsible for the CBS of purchased products but also of non-aircraft products related to the program (including tools on specification).


Job Duties

  • Responsible for the construction of the budget for the scope and for maintaining the associated productivity plans.
  • Leads sourcing activities in collaboration with members of the purchasing organization and internal customers, taking into account the specific requirements of the program concerned: prepares consultation documents, contributes to the panel of suppliers consulted in support of the SCLs, manages the various stages of the consultation process, leads the sourcing committee and negotiates the contractual terms (PTC, MOU, LTA, etc.)
  • Leads the response to specific requests from external customers relayed by sales or the program (requests for cost reductions, rate changes, VCA analyses).
  • Participate in internal meetings organized by program managers.
  • Reports to internal customers and to the line management on progress, results and difficulties encountered.
  • Proposes and conducts appropriate action plans in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Proposes and validates with the SCLs the Purchasing Productivity Plan for the programs within their scope.
  • Analyzes all components and materials of their programs in order to identify sources of gains and to generate these gains such as "redesign to cost", "make to buy" and supply chain optimization ideas.
  • Presents global cost analysis (TCO).
  • Prepares answers to specific questions from internal customers (programs and factories, etc.) concerning the security of sources and risk management for its programs.


Qualifications

Profile and other information related to the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, technical details preferred around aviation and aerospace
  • 2+ years of experience in operational/industrial purchasing
  • Experience in aeronautical/aviation industry.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Focused on results and meeting commitments
  • Expert negotiation skills
  • Experience with Purchasing & Supply chain IT tools
  • Strong team player
  • Fluent in English (negotiation level)
  • Fluent in French is a plus
