Our partner is searching for an experienced Control Systems Engineer with knowledge of software/hardware integration and development. The ideal candidate will present deep technical expertise and knowledge of the full project lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for electrical and control systems, creating concepts from the ground up based on specific project needs.
  • Utilize design software, such as AutoCAD, to draft detailed layouts and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate system components seamlessly and ensure compatibility with other project aspects.
  • Work closely with facility design teams to optimize panel placement, reduce voltage drop, and streamline hardware configurations for efficiency.
  • Oversee vendor interactions, ensuring they meet all safety, functionality, and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to relevant local regulations, industry standards, and client-specific codes.
  • Prepare and implement risk assessments, including strategies to mitigate technical challenges throughout the project.
  • Focus on designing safety-critical parts and redundant systems to ensure both safety and reliability in control systems.
  • Design complex systems involving motion and integration with automated technologies.
  • Prepare comprehensive system documentation, including operation descriptions, control system designs, panel assembly schematics, test plans, and maintenance guidelines.
  • Conduct necessary system analysis, such as protection calculations, noise reduction, load flow, power consumption, and fault monitoring, while ensuring safety system design meets required standards (knowledge of SIL/PL ratings is a plus).
  • Experience in designing ride systems for guest attractions is beneficial.
  • Be available for off-hours support during installation and commissioning phases to assist with project needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and technical proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, interacting with engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (related experience in electrical design may substitute for a different degree).
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in system design, with a preference for background in ASTM standards, attractions, and safety engineering.
  • Core Competencies: Knowledge of contract documents and technical specifications, ability to collect and document field data, and experience in system design and troubleshooting. Skilled in planning, prioritizing, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in working with industrial systems from major manufacturers like Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc., and Ethernet-based remote I/O systems.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows environments.
