Our client is a closely-held, mid-sized manufacturer sophisticated electronic equipment. They are seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. In this role, the Quality Engineer shall work closely with design and test engineering teams and is responsible for evaluating existing and new methods to mitigate risk. You will conduct regular evaluations to maintain site efficiencies and safe work environment, design and develop quality programs to meet standard SOPs for products conforming to local, regional, and international regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Include:

  • Tests organization’s products and services, determine reasons for quality issues, and advise senior management on solutions.
  • Handles daily quality problems encountered by operators or inspectors in conjunction with applicable supervisors.
  • Writes, reviews, and trains personnel on manufacturing instructions for all applicable assemblies including rework operations for any returns from the field.
  • Develops Inspection Instructions for specific products or product types and provides training.
  • Reviews configuration control records for all assemblies built for customers.
  • Reviews Engineering changes from the customer as related to Manufacturing Instructions, Drawings, Parts Lists, Wire Lists or any other applicable engineering or build documentation.
  • Writes company or customer specific process specifications as required by production and quality with support of manager.
  • Designs inspection aides and selects instruments needed to aid inspection in checking assemblies.
  • Red line authority for temporary changes to engineering or building documentation.
  • Examines equipment, processes, and assembly operations for improvements in quality and time standards.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Performs audits as required for manufacturing and manufacturing related departments.


Education:

Bachelors technical degree and/ or at least two years’ experience in Quality Department.


Work Experience:

  • Ability to lead other personnel as it relates to job assignments.
  • Ability to communicate with customer counterparts in resolving problems or making recommendations.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, work cross functionally, problem-solving and a proactive mindset are some critical traits needed.
  • Strong Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Office, Word, Jeeves
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and be able to drive continuous improvement.
