Vice President of Programs

SUMMARY
The Vice President of Programs is an advanced professional position responsible for the planning and oversight of grant project activities and research-based intervention programs that aid the coordination of statewide trauma informed intervention services for victims of domestic violence and their families. The Vice President of Programs will work to position projects, initiatives, and the organization for future success by identifying new opportunities and applying policy and systems advocacy strategies. Additionally, the Vice President of Programs will contribute to CCADV contract-related projects or initiatives determined annually by CCADV leadership and Board of Directors.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership
- Identifies and brings opportunities for enhancement to the leadership team and offers national best practice interventions using evidence-based approaches.
- In collaboration with leadership and program directors craft compelling grant proposals securing funds for CCADV and its member programs.
- Provide supervision and support to program directors to ensure strong competency, capacity building as it relates to grant writing, grant management, programmatic reporting, fiscal management/compliance and overall professional growth.
- Reviews and provides feedback on and submits reports to funders.
- Provides guidance and oversight around staff supervision, evaluations, work plans and other personnel matters.
- Develops and maintains new collaborations and networks forming strategic alliances to achieve common goals that move the work of CCADV forward.
- Identifies avenues and establishes plans to promote CCADV projects and initiatives.
- Field and resolve high level program issues/concerns raised by clients, partners and stakeholders as needed.
- Ensures compliance with organization's policies and procedures and applicable local, state and federal laws.
Other Activities
- Collaborates with other CCADV staff and actively participates in the daily operations of CCADV.
- Participates, encourages, and promotes a diverse, equitable, and trauma informed work environment.
- Interacts and communicates with Member Programs in a manner that is trauma informed and promotes a collaborative environment.
- Adapts to changing job priorities in accordance with CCADV's needs, remaining positive and open to innovative ideas and developing new skills as needed.
- Participates in CCADV's strategic planning process and implementation.
- Accepts personal accountability in the fulfillment of CCADV's objectives and adherence to policies.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
The Vice President of Programs possesses, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, or a related field - although a combination of appropriate higher educational training and work or intern/volunteer experience in the field of domestic violence may be considered (i.e., two years of related work experience is equal to one year of college education) with five or more years of supervisory or project management experience preferred. The Vice President of Programs should have extensive proficiency in the field of domestic violence and human service need. The Vice President of Programs will possess advanced interpersonal, communication and strategic negotiation skills that allow for working with diverse individuals and stakeholders. This position requires the ability to think expansively and generate solutions by drawing upon varied sources, making linkages between seemingly disparate concepts, and combining ideas in new and innovative ways.

- Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven expertise in program planning and development.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of resiliency and adaptability.
- A comprehensive understanding of the services and programs of Connecticut's domestic violence providers, as well as various statewide and governmental stakeholders.
- Successful completion and maintenance of domestic violence counselor certification, per CGS 52-146k.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to CCADV's mission, as well as issues related to domestic violence.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of client-centered, trauma informed services and the unique needs of individuals experiencing domestic violence.
- Must have experience in effectively maintaining a healthy work environment for staff that encourages professionalism, respect, equality, diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience with managing staff and multiple projects within given deadlines; in fast paced high energy working environment.
- Must have expertise in collaboration with diverse groups and individuals.
- Ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related computer-based technology, spreadsheet software and information databases.
- Flexibility to travel, reliable transportation, and valid driver's license.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and domestic violence experience required; Master's degree preferred.
