MySQL DBA

Our client, an industry leader in financial services and investment management, has an excellent opportunity for a MySQL DBA to work on a 12+month contract opportunity. Work will be a hybrid on-site/remote schedule in Durham, NC. The MySQL DBA will be responsible for providing System DBA and Cloud support for Databases like Cockroach DB, Neo4j Azure SQLMI, Azure, and MySQL as part of the Enterprise Database Operations Team.

Responsibilities of the MySQL DBA:

• Requires in depth knowledge on supporting and troubleshooting Databases like Cockroach, DB, Neo4j, Azure, SQLMI, Azure MySQL
• Build, configure, and support Database Cloud Infrastructure in AWS using industry standard deployment tools.
• Solid understanding of AWS cloud services like EC2, S3, CFT, EBS, IAM, AWS CLI.
• Experience in configuring and supporting monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog, AWS CloudWatch for proactive detection.
• Work with customers in gathering technical requirements for data migration needs.
• Good experience in production support, capacity management and maintenance of high availability & disaster recovery database systems for large-scale databases.
• Should be open to working in shifts, on call and weekend change management tasks
• Ability to quickly diagnose the problem areas, Investigate and resolve user raised Incidents, Problem management and service requests.
• Writes clear, concise, well organized user documentation to maintain standards and procedures.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, including a wide range of architectures and technologies
• Establishing strong, reciprocal relationships with business and technology partners
• Should have working knowledge of Agile practices

Requirements of the MySQL DBA:

• 10+ years of database administration experience
• AWS Skills
• Neo4J
• DB expertise

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
