Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative to join our team. This position will play a critical role in our growth initiatives, focusing on building relationships, identifying new sales leads, and expanding our customer base. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive demand for our products in the energy infrastructure industry.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads
  • Create demand for our existing and new products by targeting natural gas utilities, energy infrastructure companies, and pipe distributors
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new markets, products, and growth opportunities
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products and services
  • Deliver presentations to prospective customers and maintain ongoing communication with existing customers
  • Analyze market information to develop sales and product strategies
  • Set targets and goals for customer acquisition and growth
  • Establish tracking metrics for business development activities and maintain detailed reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior successful field sales experience from a heavy industrial company including piping, building products, and other heavy industrial products or including sales to the energy industry, pipeline sales
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional sales and negotiation abilities
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software preferred


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, or Business
  • Five to seven years of business development or related experience in sales, marketing, or business management
  • Experience in the steel pipeline industry is preferred


Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid position, with work being completed in a home office environment and through domestic travel by air and/or ground transportation. Occasional office meetings will be required. Potential candidates must be local to the Houston, TX area. Extensive travel of more than 50% -75% (domestic) is required. Most travel to Houston area, Dallas, Denver, some to Sherriville IN (at least once a quarter)
