This is a Hybrid Role – You'll be required to work in the office 2 days a month.

Full-Time Position

We are looking for local candidates based in Iowa who can come to an office in West Des Moines, IA, two days each month.

We’re seeking an innovative Application Developer with expertise in .NET, C#, and SQL to join our dynamic team. If you have experience in developing and maintaining APIs and an interest in COBOL or Policy Administration systems, we want to hear from you


What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our software solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborative Development: Work closely with analysts, designers, and fellow developers to conceptualize and create cutting-edge software applications and automated test scripts.
  • Technical Expertise: Tackle complex technical challenges with your specialized knowledge, ensuring high-quality solutions through detailed analysis and interpretation.
  • Lifecycle Mastery: Leverage your understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Requirements Definition: Lead the charge in defining software requirements, objectives, and specifications, collaborating with internal users and departments to meet their needs.
  • Project Leadership: Take initiative in scoping, scheduling, and implementing software development projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  • User-Focused Design: Prepare and interpret business and functional requirements while creating user-oriented applications and design specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop, test, document, and implement applications according to industry standards, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Automation & Testing: Design and execute automation scripts, conducting thorough testing to identify and resolve issues.
  • Database Management: Implement and maintain databases with a focus on standards and data integrity, analyzing information requirements for optimal performance.
  • Security Implementation: Plan and coordinate security measures to protect our information resources from unauthorized access or modifications.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct functional and performance tests on software, delivering critical insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively recommend and execute software upgrades and improvements, ensuring our systems remain cutting-edge.
  • Availability: Be available on-call during scheduled times and for extended periods when necessary to support operational needs and testing.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: A degree in computer science, information science, or management information systems is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of IT development experience or equivalent expertise.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with business partners and IT colleagues.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to research and propose effective solutions to complex challenges.
  • Multitasking Ability: Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership: Ability to guide and coordinate team members on projects without formal HR management responsibilities.
  • Programming Knowledge: Proficient in the necessary programming languages for our systems.
