KOMPAN is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist who will manage indirect spend by creating a buying strategy that considers the company budget and necessary supplies for KOMPAN North America.


This role will strategically develop sourcing and inventory needs by identifying vendors and suppliers that meet the demands at the right price, while keeping an open line of communication with the leadership team and our global headquarters. Your expertise will contribute to KOMPAN’s operational efficiency and overall success.

For more than 50 years, KOMPAN has researched, designed, and built innovative and imaginative commercial playground equipment and outdoor fitness sites that captivate all ages and abilities.


In collaboration with our global headquarters in Denmark, KOMPAN designs, manufactures, and installs more than 1,000 sites a month across 90 different countries. Our North American headquarters, located in Austin, Texas, supports field sales around the U.S. and Canada.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and manage materials procurement processes, inventory assessments, and product availability
  • Create and/or review purchase requisitions and identify potential suppliers
  • Forecast needs and supplies by meeting with supervisors and department heads to understand the needs across the company
  • Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
  • Negotiate competitive pricing, bidding, and contractual agreements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Evaluate RFP’s and vendor proposals to ensure that all requirements are met, confirming accurate terms and delivery dates
  • Continuously analyze and improve the procurement process for efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expense and improve effectiveness
  • Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems, placing orders to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus
  • Control spend, and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs


What You’ll Need

  • College degree, with a minimum of 5 years in procurement and sourcing
  • Manufacturing work experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with contract negotiation experience
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly-driven and self motivated



This position is office-based from the KOMPAN U.S. Headquarters in Austin, TX
