Summary

The Quality/Test Engineer will research and test the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes while developing and maintaining quality standards. This role requires expertise in blueprint interpretation, product evaluation, and quality assurance.


Responsibilities

  • Review and approve sampling procedures and designs, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
  • Develop and implement quality control systems and processes to monitor production quality.
  • Conduct product inspections, testing, and analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting quality assurance activities and findings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and Caterpillar standards.


REQUIREMENTS


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Equivalent experience and certifications may be considered.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, testing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance standards like ISO 9001.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with testing and evaluation techniques for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and quality management software/tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.


Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in automotive or heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar.


Disqualifiers

  • Candidates without relevant engineering experience or a related degree.
