W2 - Junior QA Analyst / Tester

The QA Tester/Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, software applications, and peripherals. This role requires testing custom applications, particularly GIS components, as well as collaborating closely with various teams to develop and execute quality assurance strategies. Working within an Agile methodology, the QA Tester will ensure QA standards are met, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and communicate progress to the QA Testing Lead.


Key Responsibilities:

Test custom applications, focusing on GIS components.

Create and document test plans, scenarios, test cases, and analyze results from an end-user perspective.

Participate in Agile development cycles and defect triage meetings.

Collaborate with business analysts, PMO, and vendor teams to align test cases with business requirements.

Formulate test cases, ensure QA standards, and provide regular progress updates to QA lead.

Support UAT by developing test scenarios with business subject matter experts.

Track and report issues, risks, and test progress via weekly status reports.


Required Qualifications:


General Experience:

3+ years of software testing experience in development projects, including test automation, test scripts, and test plans.

Experience in mid to large-scale system development projects.

Proficient with GitHub, ServiceNow, TFS, and JIRA.

Skilled in reviewing and analyzing system specifications.


Testing Skills:

Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and agile methodologies.

Proficiency in manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, performance, load, and security testing.

Able to document Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs), test cases, and test results.


Soft Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work across cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

Public Sector Experience: Familiarity with public sector projects.

Certifications: Software testing certifications, such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CAST.

Mobile Device Testing: Experience with mobile application testing.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field is required.
