Intellectual property strategy company has an immediate opening for a Patent Paralegal A successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and clients to assist with invention disclosure development, patent applications, patent prosecution, and legal operations. The right candidate will have a love of organization and implement and manage processes and systems that streamline the overall business. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires strong written communication skills and exemplary attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of experience in patent prosecution and the ability to work on-site in Palo Alto, CA.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Communicate with clients, inventors, and other parties to gather necessary information and documents
  • Manage the entire process of patent prosecution, including progress of IDFs, draft applications, and draft figures
  • Organize and maintain client files, including electronic documents
  • Conduct research to support patent prosecution and IP strategy
  • Perform administrative tasks to help free up the principals’ time


Essential Skills:


  • Experience with USPTO rules and patent prosecution processes is required for consideration
  • Strong written communication skills, including technical writing and legal redlines
  • Project management experience is a plus but not required
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision
  • Expert with Microsoft Office including OneDrive online
  • Demonstrated interest in technology and fast-growing companies
  • Ability to work on-site in Palo Alto, CA is required consideration
