GNSS Navigation Engineer

Recruiting for this position is being handled by Corps Team on behalf of our client. This is a full time, direct hire, employee position with excellent benefits.


Responsibilities:

Our client is seeking an experienced Navigation Engineer to join the team developing state-of-the-art user equipment for the company’s satellite-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions. The selected candidate will work with an internal development team and with commercial partners to implement the company’s flagship Satellite Time and Location (STL) solution on new platforms. Primary responsibilities will be to:


  • Develop and maintain signal processing algorithms and associated hardware implementations for PNT positioning products
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers and technical peers to solve complex system problems
  • Support system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for future enhancements
  • Contribute to all aspects of the product life cycle (concept, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, delivery, and maintenance)
  • Follow established configuration/change control processes


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (Aerospace, Computer, Electrical or Systems). Master’s or Ph.D. is a strong plus.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Strong ability to design, simulate, develop, implement, and troubleshoot advanced real-time digital signal processing solutions on embedded systems platforms with ARM, DSP and FPGA processing elements.
  • In depth experience with digital radio systems such as GPS/GNSS and software definable radios
  • Experience with GNU radios a strong plus
  • Key DSP techniques include code correlation, FFT, and phase-locked-loops
  • In depth knowledge of baseband radio signal processing, Spread Spectrum receiver design principles, signal processing in hardware and software
  • Strong knowledge in GPS/GNSS technology and navigation algorithms
  • Familiarity with common RF/HW/FW/SW tools such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, Chipscope, GDB etc.
  • Other important skills for this position include simulation and debugging with Matlab/Octave and C++, and the ability to develop in a Linux environment
  • Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks
  • Proven ability to work independently, designing, developing and deploying solutions, and delivering projects on time with minimal direction
  • Ability to listen and evaluate all opinions without bias, and contribute to a common culture of excellence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel to corporate offices and client sites may be required up to 10%
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to federal government contracts
