Position Summary:

The client's Product Planning is looking for a Manager of TV Product Planning to lead the creation of new innovative product concepts and foster strategic partnerships to drive the Home Entertainment business forward.

The candidate will be instrumental in transforming the TV from a mere display device into a personalized lifestyle platform that enriches consumers' lives. By leveraging innovative thinking and a deep understanding of consumer needs, this role will position the client as a pioneer in the evolving TV landscape.

This role requires a data-driven approach to product development, with a strong focus on consumer insights. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Online VOC and CSMI teams to analyze monthly and quarterly consumer data. They will leverage advanced analytics to build predictive models and inform product strategy, drawing on expertise in TV sales, consumer behavior, and technology.

The individual will define differentiated product concepts and functions based on robust consumer insights, building a compelling case for new products through data-driven analysis. This role demands exceptional leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Design, R&D, and UX, to refine product specifications and ensure technical feasibility. The new concept developed by Product Planning will be reported to the C-Level of the client at Korea.


The successful candidate will be a highly analytical, consumer-centric innovator with a proven ability to make data-driven decisions. They must thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and possess the interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with diverse teams across the organization. This position is based in Ridgefield Park, NJ.


Essentials/Duties and Responsibilities

• Market and Consumer Analysis

o Discover potential consumer insights through in-depth research on US TV market trends, competitor analysis, and consumer needs/Lifestyle

o Conceptualize new TV usage scenarios and concepts that reflect the latest consumer trends and technological advancements

o Utilize data analysis techniques to analyze consumer behavior patterns and provide evidence for product planning

o Develop monthly/quarterly US consumer insight and trend report

• New Product Planning and New Business Partnership Development

o Define differentiated TV product concepts and functions based on identified consumer insights.

o Refine product specifications through technical feasibility reviews and collaboration with design teams.

o Establish data-driven logic for product necessity and competitive advantage.

o Develop the new product concept/new business partner for demand generation and report to the C-Level of the client at Korea

o Establish GTM Strategy works with Product Marketing Team/Sales

• Product and Line-up Strategy Development and Management

o Develop and manage mid-term TV product portfolio strategies

o Manage development schedules and resource allocation for each product

• Collaboration with Various Departments

o Successfully lead projects through close collaboration with related with departments such as Design, UX, R&D, Service Partnership and marketing

o Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration with experts in various fields such as technology, design, and marketing.


Background/Experience

• 3+ years of experience in TV Product Planning/CE Product Planning or related fields (e.g., experience in consumer market analysis, new product development, Service Product Manager, Service Partnership)

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., electrical engineering, industrial engineering, business administration)

• MBA would be a plus

• In-depth understanding of TV/Display technology trends (OLED, QLED, Mini LED, etc.), SW/AI technology trends and OTT Industry

• Market research and data analysis methodologies (statistics, data mining, etc.)

• Basic understanding of consumer psychology and behavioral economics

• Required excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills, creative idea generation and visualization skills, Effective communication and presentation skills and Project management skills and leadership

• Consumer – Centric Thinking: Identify accurately consumer needs and plan differentiated products based on those needs

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on the data analysis and increase the efficiency of product planning

• Innovative Thinking: Think outside the box, solve problems from new perspectives, and develop innovative products

• Excellent Collaboration skills: Quickly adapt to changing market environments and lead new technology trends.


Note: The pay rate for this position ranges between $65 - 69/hr. on W2, depending on the contract type, nature of the job, location, industry trends etc.
