***Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: [$85K - $88K]. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. ***

About the Role:

Our client is looking for a strong Reporting Engineer who has solid experience across AWS. This position will specifically be supporting AWS Quick Sight and helping to standardize and enhance data integrity, data lake adoption and reporting capabilities. In this role you will help to streamline reporting best practices and support activities in addition to data governance. In addition, this role will help to navigate data and visualization needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design and delivery of reports and insights for performance metrics to support business units across the organization.
  • Improve Data Lake adoption by developing and maintaining reusable data models that align with business rules.
  • Streamline processes to extract, transform and load data into the Data Lake.
  • Identify and deploy techniques to improve and monitor data integrity.
  • Contributes to team effort by participating in Agile Kanban teams and delivering results for assigned IT projects, enhancements, and support tasks.
  • Meets the business scope and objectives of the enterprise by developing and implementing proactive monitoring of critical business services.
  • 3+ years of experience working with databases and ETL (extract, transform, and load) technologies, preferably with AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, Python
  • 3+ years' experience with report writing in AWS Quick Sight or other reporting tools such as Tableau or Microsoft PowerBI.
  • 3+ years of experience working with and creating datasets and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
  • 3+ years of SQL skills which include ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
  • Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
  • Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analysing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes.
  • Maintains technical currency by seeking, acquiring, and promptly applying new knowledge and skills, new technology, business-related information, and emerging industry practices. Maintains fundamental understanding of client business functions.
  • Hotel/Hospitality operations experience is a plus.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
