Paralegal – Brand Administrator – Commercial Real Estate Development Company



We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal with expertise in transactional law and strong organizational skills to join our dynamic company and provide legal support for our real estate development projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of contract law, particularly in the context of the full real estate development process from acquisition through the ultimate disposition of property. Experience with intellectual property and licensing agreements is a plus. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and managing various legal documents related to real estate development, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will be working under the direction of the company’s Chief Financial Officer.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and dynamic individual with a strong attention to detail. You thrive in fast paced environments with an ability to handle multiple projects at once. You are curious and interested in having a thorough and comprehensive understanding of all legal documents you work on. Your high level of integrity and work ethic align with our company’s culture. Responsibilities:

Contract Drafting and Review

·        Draft, review, and revise contracts, including purchase agreements, lease agreements, construction contracts, assignments, corporate documents, investor documents and other documents related to running a real estate development company

·        Ensure that all contracts align with legal requirements, company policies, and industry best practices

Legal Research

·        Conduct legal research on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and precedents

·        Stay updated on changes in laws affecting our real estate projects and provide recommendations based on new developments

Brand & Document Management

·        Organize and maintain legal documents, contracts, and agreements

·        Assist in the development of document management processes to enhance efficiency

·        Take the lead in the administration of responsibilities pursuant to our licensing agreements with various brand partners 

Due Diligence

·        Perform due diligence on real estate transactions, identifying potential legal risks and providing recommendations to mitigate them

·        Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for due diligence processes

Communication

·        Work closely with internal stakeholders, including real estate developers, project managers, investors, and other legal professionals

·        Communicate legal concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-legal team members

Compliance

·        Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and contractual obligations

·        Collaborate and communicate with external legal counsel when necessary to address complex legal issues


Qualifications:

·        Experience with intellectual property and licensing agreements.

·        Proven experience in transactional law, with a focus on real estate development

·        Previous work in a law firm or corporate legal department is advantageous

·        Strong drafting and analytical skills

·        Excellent research capabilities

·        Attention to detail and accuracy in document review

·        Effective communication and interpersonal skills

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

·        Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
