As a Supply Chain Director, you will help lead the organization across multiple departments. This individual will also be in position to assume control of the GM role in a short period of time.


In this position you will be the architect and lead the segment’s team in overall sourcing activities for design and effectiveness, ensuring spending control, inventory demand planning, supplier relations and optimization of sourcing strategies. With your team and cross-functional inputs, you will develop and implement plans for managing supply chain processes for production and operations including overseeing demand forecasting, synchronized supply and operational planning that improve the overall efficiency of the segment.


The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for developing presentations and communications for executives regarding business needs, executable plans and performance measurements to metrics.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the overall strategy and execution of the supply chain management function.
  • Manage a team of buyers and planners across two sites, collaborate and drive single process, optimization of leveraged supply base spending.
  • Assist logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, and returns on products.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to streamline processes that improve accuracy and efficiency within operations, including corrective action and financial OTD recoveries. Manage current and long-term forecast projections to drive production and inventory planning goals.


  • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations that demonstrate control in the areas of Inventory metrics – DOH, OTD, A,B,C turns. Logistics metrics (cost), Supplier scorecards / metrics.
  • Develop effective communication and processes with the transportation and logistics vendors.
  • Key relationship manager for the company with external parties, such as suppliers or distributors, and internally with Sales and Customer Service to effectively resolve challenges.
  • Develop statistical models for predictive analytics from historical trending.
  • Engages with engineering department and production to address constraints to production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements.
  • Drives cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.
  • Schedule and execute documented periodic evaluations with key suppliers vs. the defined metrics, pricing contracts or agreements. Cascade annual cost reduction expectations to suppliers, driving out waste.
  • Proven track record of utilizing analysis and solid judgment to assess and present options. The expectation of concise communication with senior leaders to highlight issues and solutions with supporting data.



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Engineering.
  • 5 + years of proven increasing experience in supply chain management, preferably operations, manufacturing, and purchasing progressive roles.
  • ERP analytics including SIOP planning, implementation execution to budget and delivery.
  • Inquisitive analytics driven use of ERP data for process improvements – supplier, internal, cost efficiency, supply base consolidation.
  • Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of the supply chain, from product development to the domestic and international shipment of finished items.
  • Strong performance management skills in leading breakthrough improvements within the end-to-end supply chain and in supporting direct report effectiveness/execution.
