The Superintendent position functions as a field supervisor and may have responsibility over multiple foremen, and/or laborers, craft workers, and subcontractors. This position is responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity of drawings and specification, quality and workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of the work, either directly or through the General Foreman or the Foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architects and engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff. This position manages jobsite safety by ensuring all employees and subcontractors are fully compliant with all OSHA regulations while performing on each project.


  • Maintain ongoing communication with client, making adjustments as necessary to comply with client needs within contractual obligations or adjust project deliverables to meet client and PWC needs.
  • Assist Project Manager in establishing and implementing project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all work; determine and oversee all project controls, schedules and budgets.
  • Assemble and review shop drawings, RFI’s and submittals with the assistance of a project engineer.
  • Work with the Project Manager in updating the CPM schedule.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to entry and midlevel employees to promote employee development
  • Assist with managing and directing project construction teams by ensuring project scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood.
  • Serve as project representative at kick-off meetings, job walks, project review, and other meetings and correspondence.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all work products are consistent with industry standards, and in compliance.
  • Review and approve the balance of Foremen, Journeymen, and Laborer’s composite labor rates.
  • Manage contract administration (subcontractor and field management meetings for communication)
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover.
  • Maintain daily reports for distribution to Owner.
  • Assemble 4-week look-ahead construction schedules with weekly updates.
  • Schedule material deliveries, subcontractors, and other administrative items related to managing a construction project.
  • Perform surveying layout to ensure proper lines and grades are maintained.
  • Implementation of RFI’s and Submittals into the work plan.
  • Ensure all embeds are placed correctly within the cast in place structures.
  • Maintain proper inventory and organization of jobsite tools and materials.
  • Manage safety on each jobsite with all personnel
  • Submission of work plans followed up with Equipment Shutdown Requests to coordinate work with the Owner/Engineer and maintain Owner Operations


Required Skills (ability to perform the following)

  • BS Construction, Engineering, or related degree.
  • Must be able to withstand the physical demands of both indoor and outdoor construction work, be able to lift and/or maneuver equipment and use assistance as needed per safety regulations, endure extreme weather conditions, and perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation.
  • Negotiate and purchase materials.
  • Read/comprehend/follow/implement language of a contract.
  • Maintain as-built documents.
  • Act as point of contact with owner and architect/engineer.
  • Verify and provide inventory analysis.
  • Survey construction job site.
