Communications & Brand Specialist



C4K (Computers4Kids), a Charlottesville non-profit committed to ensuring all youth have the skills and resources they need to have brighter futures, is seeking an experienced Communications & Brand Specialist. This role will be instrumental in crafting our organization's narrative, engaging our audiences, and driving significant impact through compelling storytelling and strategic content marketing efforts. We seek a creative problem solver with strong writing skills and a deep dedication to our mission.


Role Overview:

As the Communications & Brand Specialist at C4K, you will develop and implement strategic communication plans to improve our visibility and connect with our target audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a communication plan that is aligned with our mission and values, growing brand awareness and engagement across all of our channels.
  • Craft compelling brand stories that resonate with our audience(s) and help us achieve our fundraising goals.
  • Build engaging brand content across owned, organic, and paid channels to drive brand awareness and engagement. 
  • Build case studies and narratives that showcase our work's impact and highlight our organization's mission.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Conceptualize and lead all aspects of multimedia content production. Including collateral development and photo and video editing.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication tactics, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends.
  • Engage with our community through social media and other channels. Ensuring responses are timely, professional, and on brand.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a communications or brand role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with design software to develop marketing assets, such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva.
  • Creative thinking, planning, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability in marketing/storytelling.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Bloomerang.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Expertise in Meta Ads Manager and Google Analytics
Salary, Hours, and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position, reporting to the Executive Director. Starting pay begins at $60,000, with adjustments based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include fully paid health insurance (medical) for employees, 3+ weeks of vacation, personal leave, and 401k with employer match. General hours are 9-10 am to 5 or 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work.
