As an Actuary you will be dedicated to the development and maintenance of Loadsure’s proprietary pricing models and the structure of the data sets that support them. The role will support a variety of actuarial tasks, which could include data analytics, pricing, reserving, reporting and sales support for the overall insurance and finance department.


You will be highly organized, data-driven and comfortable building relationships and working with all levels of the firm.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Continue development and maintenance of Loadsure actuarial pricing models. Conducting research for impactful data sets and opportunities to improve the quality of work. Conduct exercises on mirror pricing against the portfolio to determine the financial impact of changes
  • Assist in development and configuration of rating engines;
  • Together with the Head of Actuarial, you will support the development and maintenance of pricing tools, including the data flow into our data warehouse for accurate monitoring and reporting on the portfolio
  • Support the development of complex and automated rating algorithms to improve profitability on the portfolio
  • Optimize the claims processes through smarter automated decision making
  • Internal catastrophe data modeling within Europe and North America
  • Help maintain team standards through supporting other members in achieving their service/quality levels and targets as required
  • Provide accurate information and reports to the senior management team and underwriters;
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement that focuses on developing processes and systems, and enhancing the service provided to all stakeholders
  • Maintain strong controls and governance focus around all aspects of models, processes, reporting and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager


Skills and Qualifications;

Essential;

  • Strong academic background in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Statistics or Business
  • 3 to 4 years experience in data analytics and actuarial work in the insurance industry
  • Proven administrative experience
  • Excellent IT Skills (particularly Excel & Google Suite) as well as strong coding skills (SQL, VBA etc)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable dealing with internal and external senior representatives
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deliverables
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-starter and solutions driven
  • Effective listening, strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing technical environment


Desirable;

  • Experience of working in an actuarial reporting team, or as an actuary within the insurance industry
  • General Insurance pricing experience, including the use of R or Python
  • Experience of reporting procedures, processes and operating controls for a robust delivery of reliable and accurate financial reporting to auditable standards.
  • Enthusiastic about emerging technology and Insurtech
