The Managing Director has full responsibility for the business performance of the site. The scope includes commercial, operations, and P&L management Successful leadership will require collaboration with all functions to drive people development, production efficiency, and profitable site growth with the goal of complete customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

(The roles and responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive or exclusive):

  • Full ownership and accountability for the business financial performance.
  • Strategic planning with an entrepreneurial mindset to grow the business
  • Works in partnership with the Commercial team to provide outstanding customer service and generate collaborative relationships with our customers.
  • Responsible for improving customer profitability, focusing on actions to produce products more efficiently, changing specifications, addressing profit leakages and working with commercial team to increase prices to recover all cost increases and improve profit margins
  • Capital investment planning and execution
  • Workplace safety
  • Operational performance inclusive of quality, efficiency, planning, scheduling and execution
  • Provides effective coaching and motivation to team members including sharing goal setting and feedback so that each team understands and can successfully achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, 5S and cost reduction
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organizations.
  • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develops goals, action plans, time tables, for direct reports.
  • Engage with peers and Group functions to implement and share best practices across the business


Qualifications and Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, finance, or business. Ten (10) years manufacturing related experience and in leadership role(s) with progressive managerial responsibilities.
  • Experience in secondary packaging for the Pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in the packaging industry is preferred


Knowledge and Required Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen including the ability to thoroughly understand and manage the business P&L performance
  • Customer-centric mindset
  • Self-starter capable of operating independently
  • Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of the packaging and print industry
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Computer Literate, Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is required.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Experience operating in a team environment and leading teams.
  • Ability to independently lead a business with minimal outside influence, direction and support
