Job Description:

The Career Transition Services Specialist for Job Corps is responsible for providing guidance to separated or separating students, ensuring successful placements in employment, apprenticeships, or post-secondary education. This role involves early engagement with students, initiating meetings to determine their future plans when they are approximately 75% through their trade training. The specialist leverages partnerships, including military and job connections, to secure placement within a year of graduation. They utilize “Ehire” for job recruitment and collaborate with trade instructors to facilitate student placement. A key component of the role is the Pathway to Achievement record, which outlines the student’s chosen trade and career goals from the start, ensuring they have a clear placement plan.


Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field
  • OR an Associate’s degree in HR, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field AND 2 years of experience
  • Related experience in:
  • Youth development programs
  • Recruitment programs, outreach efforts
  • Volunteering for the church at youth programs
  • HR coordination
  • Ability to establish relationships with employers, community colleges, and other entities to ensure successful placements with good career pathway opportunities for economic self-sufficiency
