University Pharmacy is a locally owned and operated community pharmacy and we are seeking a full-time pharmacist to join our team We’re offering varied shifts within pharmacy hours, Monday – Saturday. Experience in a compounding pharmacy is preferred. 


Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and healthcare providers in person and by phone; provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of patients and health care professionals; counsel patients on drug therapies and medical equipment.
  • Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, verifying order entries, charges, and inspections, assisting support personnel as needed.
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the Utah Board of Pharmacy (BOP), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by maintaining records for controlled substances, removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory, supervising the work results of support personnel, maintaining current registration, studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place drug orders as needed; order, sell, and control other stock pertaining to patient medical needs.
  • Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies; includes maintaining knowledgebase of compounding sufficient to enter and check compounded prescription orders and counsel patients and make recommendations to prescribers.
  • Develop site staff’s pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs, training pharmacy staff, students, and interns.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


Qualifications

  • Utah-licensed pharmacist as a graduate from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a Pharm D. or R.Ph.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain focus in a fast paced environment
  • Independent worker while maintaining a cooperative and team oriented outlook
  • Highly detail oriented; committed to quality
  • Works proactively; able to adapt quickly
  • Able to direct supportive personnel
  • Accurate and fast typing/data entry
  • General knowledge of computer systems
