Land Surveying Internship

The Intern will have the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced Field Surveyors, Professional Surveyors, and Construction Services professionals. The duration of this summer internship commitment will be approximately 12 to 16 weeks during the months of May through August.
Essential Functions:
- Work with 1-2 person crew in the field to assist on land survey projects
- Assist with setup and teardown of survey instrumentation, placing of survey markers, and brushing of paths
- Read and interpret construction plans for project work
Essential Skills for Performing the Job:
- Self-motivated & strong attention to detail
- Strong aptitude for mathematics, specifically trigonometry and geometry
- Proficiency in reading maps with a good sense of geography
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Professionalism
Required Education and Experience
- Pursuing Bachelor of Science degree in Surveying
Other Requirements
Valid Driver’s License in good standing, demonstrating safe driving habits, and capable of being insured by our company policy.
Position Type/Expected Hours
This is a temporary full-time position for the summer. Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Physical Demands
This position is a combination of fieldwork, travel-related work, and sedentary work. An employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds. An employee may also be required to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions.
Travel
Regular travel to job sites will be required as a part of the Survey Intern role.
