Sr Network Architect

As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading, planning, designing and implementing LAN, WAN and security engagements. The successful candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing multi-vendor network infrastructures including routers, switches and firewalls.


Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of existing LAN, WAN and security solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain next generation security solutions including evaluating, selecting, and implementing best-case technologies.
  • Design and implement secure access to network resources for wired and wireless clients working both on-site and remotely. Additionally, coordination for specific routes between this company and the off-shore parent company for user access to inter-company resources is required.
  • Work directly with new and existing vendors and service providers for procurement and support services in all technical arenas. This includes all matters for telco, eg VOIP, Cellular networks and any emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure the selection, implementation, and maintenance of lab instruments for Quality Control and Research & Development are suitable for their intended use and environment.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance for the separate and distinct manufacturing network. This network includes PLC/SCADA/Process Control devices alone with facilitating data collection from the endpoints into a centralized SQL database.
  • Maintain and adapt as necessary existing backup plans for Hosts and Endpoints on both networks.
  • Develop, maintain, and validate various Disaster Recovery plans for two primary locations.
  • Create Asset Management plan for IT assets.
  • Work with Management and staff of foreign parent corporation. Current actives daily ETL transfers of sales activities and hourly ETL of accounting transactions from domestic ERP system to foreign Accounting platform
  • Manage enhancement and maintenance of ERP system to satisfy evolving requirements, technical deficiencies, and operational necessities.
  • Perform DBA responsibilities for MS-SQL Server and Postgres databases, including data extraction into various formats (.csv, .xlsx. AWS QuickSight).
  • Play an active leadership role in enhancing and expanding existing analytics techniques and technologies with an eye to improving understanding historical trends and projecting future opportunities.
  • Routing Protocols—OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2 / L3 Architecture and Design Multicast, QoS
  • Cisco based ISR-based VPN solutions such as FLEX-VPN, GET-VPN, or DMVPN.
  • Data Center / Core design, configuration, and implementation utilizing Cisco Nexus Architecture (9K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 3K, 2K, 1000V).
  • Software Defined Networking (SDA, SD-WAN)
  • Cisco/Meraki/Aruba Wireless
  • Controller or autonomous based
  • Design using Ekahau or similar product
  • High Density/Manufacturing/Office/Education
  • Familiarity or experience with:
  • Meraki (Wireless, Security Products, Switches, SDWAN)
  • Citrix NetScaler ADC/SDWAN deployment a plus
  • Network security appliances Including Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto firewalls and related technology
  • Additional core technologies such as: Riverbed, OpenDNS, Infoblox, Cisco Optical, NetBrain, FireEye, SolarWinds, SPLUNK


Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Understand highly available, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure and services
  • Proficiency with TCP/IP, sub-netting, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NAT
  • Proficient with IP Routing Protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, BGP), QoS, Multicast, MPLS
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and analysis throughout the seven-layer OSI reference model
  • Experience with network security design and implementation including NextGen firewall/DMZ configuration
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills


Education and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical degree required, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years practical experience implementing Cisco wired and wireless network infrastructures
  • Experience with Cisco ISR Routers, and Cisco Ethernet switching including Nexus Data Center switches and Catalyst Campus switches
  • Desired certifications:

o Cisco CCNP

o Cisco CCIE Route/Switch or equivalent experience

o Cisco CCIE - Security
