As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing professional accounting support to a variety of financial functions with a primary focus on monthly reporting. The Senior Accountant will ensure that the company accounting, audit and reporting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.


The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and will help provide leadership and coordination to the company's accounting function. This role will also be involved in process improvement activities geared toward creating more efficient, effective, and repeatable processes that drive timely and accurate financial reporting.


Responsibilities:

  • Accounts for all banking activity and ensures that accounts are reconciled timely.
  • Accurately records revenue each month and works to automate the daily journal entries.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of a fixed asset policy.
  • Accurately complete balance sheet reconciliations by thoroughly reviewing the monthly activity, recording necessary accruals and adjustments, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Responsible for sales tax and personal property tax filing and compliance.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to cross functional departments.
  • Assist with tasks outside of their realm of responsibility to promote a strong sense of team.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects to prepare the company for a review, and eventual audit.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
  • Comfortable manipulating data in excel
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled at developing relationships with business partners and serving as a strategic advisor.
  • Detail oriented and ability to deliver with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and with senior management
  • Identifies problems and presents solutions.
