We are seeking a skilled Confluent Kafka Platform Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. This role requires you to be onsite 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs) with no exceptions. Candidates must already reside in the Irvine area, as we are not considering relocation.


**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Upgrade and maintain the Confluent Kafka platform from its current version to the latest release.
  • Provide hands-on expertise with Kafka Brokers and understand their underlying functionality.
  • Manage and understand the Schema Registry, including its implementation and functionality.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Kafka client producer and consumer functionality.
  • Collaborate with development teams, product managers, operations teams, and architect groups to design and implement technical solutions for Kafka on-premises and Confluent Cloud platforms.
  • Support Confluent Kafka on AWS cloud.
  • Utilize Developer SRE experience with Java Spring Boot, Python, Terraform, and AWS.


*Basic Qualifications:*

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with the Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka), including KSQL DB and Kafka connectors.
  • Minimum 6 years of Developer/SRE experience with Java Spring Boot, Python, Terraform, and AWS.
  • High School Diploma or GED.


**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience with Apache Kafka.
