This remote job opportunity is to support the Library of Congress (LOC)


Responsible for the execution of a quality assurance (QA) program in support of products and services. Participates in establishing software quality standards for life cycle, documentation, development methods, testing, and maintenance. Specifies functional and non-functional software testing requirements. Conducts CMMI PQA audits.


  • Works iteratively with the business, product, and development teams through all aspects of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including business requirements, functional specifications, integration, and regression testing using current testing methodologies and tools.
  • Implements efficient and effective test plans for new systems, problems and/or enhancements.
  • Analyzes and dissects system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute test cases. Writes and executes test cases.
  • Plans, documents, evaluates, and tracks testing results to ensure system applications are free from defects.
  • Actively participates in walk-through, inspection, review and user group meetings for quality assurance.
  • Participates in production implementation verification and is accountable for validating system quality.
  • Works with project teams to establish quantitative measurements and techniques for measuring software quality.
  • Reviews and evaluates products and services for adherence to government directives, standards and guidelines concerning quality assurance.
  • Responsible for entering defects into defect tracking tool.
  • Creates and maintains automated testing scripts where applicable.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Certified Tester -- Advanced Level (TTA, TA, and/or TM) desired
  • 3-5 years of Information Technology experience; requirements development, programming, software testing, technical writing, customer call support (Help Desk).


Key Skills Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in developing automated test scripts for web applications and mobile applications (professional reference required)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in developing manual test scripts and compiling test reports
  • Prior experience with the Defect Life Cycle, including logging and presenting defects
  • Proficiency in Cypress, Java, JavaScript, Selenium, TestNG, HTML, CSS, Appium, Maven, npm, node.js, Page Object Model, X-paths/CSS selectors
  • Proficiency in Mobile Testing for Android, iOS, and FireOS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, GitHub, GitLab, Jira
  • Experience with API Testing using Postman
  • Experience with Accessibility Testing
  • Experience working in an Agile framework


Candidates must be US citizens and will be required to undergo a federal background investigation in order to gain access to sensitive information. Must be able to obtain a Public trust for the position.
